SUNDAY, JUNE 23:
This evening I took another hike down Blue Springs Rd to look for birds and whatever else might turn up on this beautiful evening. I started off the hike with CAROLINA CHICKADEE:
And WHITE-EYED VIREO:
I was afforded great views of one of the resident BALD EAGLES that is nesting along the White River:
It gave a nice wing stretch at one point:
I also spotted one of the juvenile birds panting in the afternoon heat — it was wonderful to see evidence of successful breeding in this corner of the state.
White-tailed Deer on the hill across the river:
And a SUMMER TANAGER to wrap up the hike:
Bird-of-the-day to the nesting and successfully fledged Bald Eagles! Stay tuned!
Happy birding,
Henry

like the chickadee; Good to know the Bald eagles are doing well there. Eight of the nests out here had two young fledge successfully this year.
