Another amazing day of spring migration here in Illinois, kicked off by my last Oak Park Bird Walk of high school!
BROAD-WINGED HAWKS:
Male CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLERS:
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW:
BLUE-HEADED VIREO:
BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER, a fantastic species for OP!!!
NORTHERN PARULA:
Male GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER:
LINCOLN’S SPARROW:
BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER:
Male CAPE MAY WARBLER:
Overall, a whopping 54 species were seen on the bird walk, the greatest total of any bird walk within Oak Park!
Later today, this male BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER was a great surprise shortly before I got on the train to go downtown!
Bird-of-the-day to the Blackburnian Warbler.
Good birding,
Henry
