Day 1: Bella Italia!
Urbania, Italy
Friday 1 June 2018 80 °F
Yesterday, my mom and I traveled from Chicago to the small mountain town of Urbania, Italy because I will be here for a month studying opera and Italian language!
The drive from Rome was very scenic and beautiful:
Soon, we arrived at this beautiful inn in which we are staying for a couple days — then I will move in with a host family.
The birding on the property is quite good — this is a EURASIAN JAY:
EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE:
ITALIAN SPARROW:
WHITE WAGTAIL:
Birds aren’t the only creatures around, though! House Gecko:
Dinner was very delicious!
Then, before bed, we had a beautiful walk home at dusk. I even heard (but didn’t see) a TAWNY OWL calling.
Bird-of-the-day to the wagtail with runner-up to the owl for yesterday! Stay tuned!
Good birding,
Henry
