Morning in Central Park

New York, NY

overcast 63 °F

FRIDAY, APRIL 21:

This morning I did something so refreshing and restorative that I have not done in a long while: a simple morning birding excursion via scooter to the north end of Central Park with no targets apart from whatever migrants would happen to be around. It was wonderful, starting with this PALM WARBLER:

The Loch looked gorgeous this morning:

First BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER of the year which will be my bird-of-the-day!

It was a really enjoyable morning to get out, despite frustratingly getting back to school and immediately receiving word of an Evening Grosbeak in Central Park that I was unable to chase due to further midday time constraints. Such is birding!

Stay tuned: tomorrow I head upstate for my first true herping adventure of the year!

Happy birding,
Henry
